2009 IFTZ School Awards Granted

On the 21st of December, S.D.M. awarded the best students of the schools from the council of Machico, as well as the sons of workers of companies operating in the Industrial Free Trade Zone, with the “2009 IFTZ School Awards”. During the official ceremony, which took place at S.D.M.’s office in the IFTZ, eight students were awarded with a MacBook Pro computer.

At the ceremony, the Regional Education Director, Rui Anacleto, addressing the audience, stressed the importance of S.D.M.'s award, underlining that it is a contribution to both the “merit culture” in the local schools and the better preparation of students to face an increasingly competitive job market.

The “IFTZ School Awards” were created by S.D.M. in 2005.
