Madeira's IBC intensive promotional activity till the end of 2017

In the last quarter of the year, S.D.M. will conduct promotional missions to six more countries to promote the International Business Centre of Madeira (IBCM).

The programme for the last few months of the year began in September with two promotional missions to South America, namely to Peru and Chile, two of the fastest growing economies of Latin America.

Until the end of the year, SDM will carry out promotional missions to Luxembourg, Italy, France, Spain and the Middle East.

In fact, SDM's last promotional event of 2017 will take place in the Middle East, with meetings and presentations scheduled for the United Arab Emirates and, for the first time, in Lebanon, as a result of the growing interest shown by investors from that region.

The purpose is to continue the promotion of the IBCM in highly competitive markets which have provided concrete results in recent years or in emerging economies which indicate high potential for investment in Madeira.

Covering 18 countries and more than 25 cities in various continents, S.D.M.'s main objective was to increase the awareness of the IBC and its operational and tax advantages and to reinforce its credibility, transparency and regulation in comparison to other traditional low-tax jurisdictions both in Europe and worldwide.

There is a growing interest from Portuguese investors in Madeira's IBC as a platform to expand and internationalise their activities and therefore SDM continues to reinforce the promotional efforts undertaken by both its Lisbon and Porto offices. The conference held in Lisbon last July with the support of the prestigious business newspaper Jornal de Negócios is one of the most recent and concrete examples of SDM's commitment in the Portuguese market.
